Farewell Patriot God
How many Patriot Gods are out there; people who speak in whispers except when they are anonymous? How many is hard to know.
Some say we should not publish their views. I am inclined to think otherwise. I have heard voices like Patriot God’s, obviously more restrained, more careful, for they are not anonymous, but I hear them often.
They see themselves as patriots, as defenders of the Constitution, and the American way of life. And they are afraid competing interests drown out their voices.
They feel like Patriot God does: oppressed and quietly fear their country is being taken over.
While I sometimes treat Patriot God as comedy gold, his words being extreme and ridiculous, a caricature of the people of January 6, that he provides chuckles.
But through the extreme views of Patriot God, I think we get a view of people who see the world much differently than the mainstream media portrays it. The world they used to know is vanishing, and they don’t know what to make of it.
Maybe there is a bridge to peace with those on either side, and someday harmony through trust. Even if that is impossible, at least knowing what they think and why they are frightened is to be aware.
