Family Court Scandal: Children as Profit? One Father Fights Back With Website

I am not alone in questioning the unbridled power of the family court, a part of the judiciary with no checks and balances, primarily because there is no jury.

I never set foot in family court, and I would advise anyone that once they do, they give up control of their family, their children, and their lives—with no recourse—to a single judge who, in many, if not most, instances, enjoys a cozy relationship with attorneys who practice before the court. Instead of a court, they have a business. Children are the commodities sold.

Stay away from it.

Just ask Stephen Chabak of Middletown, CT. He lost his kids three years ago, but by all accounts he did nothing wrong. The business enterprise of family court just found it more profitable to remove him from his kids.

Unlike most victims of family court, he is fighting back. He wrote me to tell me about his website TheDirtyCottageIndustry.com.

He wrote, “I am sure you will find some useful information about Judges Albis, Adelman and Moukawsher, as well as on GAL Sue Cousineau, and crooked Dr. Stephen Humphrey on my website.”

I took a look and found interesting posts, most of which related to Connecticut.

Here was one of interest:

CT Insider: 1,967 Complaints Against Judges…Only 9 Heard Publicly!

Read the article here.

Of the 1,967 complaints logged between 2006 and 2023, just 12 reached the “probable cause” stage, and only nine reached the public hearing stage.

Judges, as public servants, should have their disciplinary processes made public to prevent concerns about secretive actions. That does not happen.

Family Court Inc.?

Another link was more general and references Family Court, AKA Divorce Court.

Divorce Corp is a documentary released in 2014 that addresses the “collusion, corruption, and general grossness” in the Family Court system, not just in Connecticut, but nationwide.

Divorce court is a 50 billion dollar industry for lawyers, experts, investigators and other

related contractors. A movie called divorce corp with a “p” explores the business of divorce and the pain it causes the participants.

He also writes about his own family court nightmare:

The Dirty Cottage Industry

Three years ago, I was isolated from my children because of corrupt judges, politicians, and the corruption of the Family Court system. …

My Story

Judge Michael Albis stole my children with the help of the Family Court System in Connecticut. While I did everything I could to keep our family together, this system utilized its corruption to take my children away from a good father…

I am divorced from my wife who made a conscious decision to keep my children from me. While the courts have had no evidence to do this, injustice still prevails. To add insult to injury, the Guardian ad Litem (GAL) whose job is to protect the child, opted to protect her own interests and agenda, completely eroding any possibility of a “amicable” separation. …

Since then, I have made it my mission to expose the corruption of the Connecticut Family Court system and Departments of Children & Family….

Chabak posts interesting stories about various players in the legal game: In Grievance Counsel Misrepresenting Facts?, he writes about Richard Florentine, a Connecticut attorney who serves as Grievance Counsel for two judicial districts, who he claims falsely misrepresented his college graduation details.

Chabak writes, “Richard Florentine states he graduated from Quinnipiac University College of Law in 1984…except in 1984 Quinnipiac did not have a School of Law.”

Cousineau, the Fox

In his story about guardian ad litem, Sue Cousineau does NOTHING for your children. All she does is “catch and kill”!,  he writes, “Sue Cousineau will do nothing to help your children. She doesn’t even know what her job is. What she will do is take your money, bury things, and ruin any relationship with your child.”

Curiously, Cousineau admits in a legal proceeding in front of Judge Albis, that as a guardian ad litem, she says, “My role isn’t to protect the children. My role is to investigate, report to the court and make recommendations.”

Glad she made that clear.

It’s no coincidence that GAL attorney Sue Cousineau was Chairmen of the Task Force to investigate the corruption and abuse of power by GAL’s!

The fox Sue Cousineau oversees how the other foxes are doing with the children. But as she says, her role is not to protect the children. Her role is to protect Family Court Inc.

Two Judges Known to Readers

Chabak also has some interesting stories about some old favorites, Judge Adelman and Judge Moukawsher.

Judge Thomas Moukawsher (retired) and Judge Gerard Adelman.

FR has written stories about Adelman and  his favorite GAL, Jocelyn Hurwitz.
