I spoke with a father today who is experiencing Divorce Industry and “family” court 101.
He parted ways peacefully with his ex and has two teenage sons, which they agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of – until his ex wife’ss divorce attorney got involved.
Scorched Earth Tactics Target Cooperative Parent
What followed is the classic Divorce Industry scorched earth method of operation designed to traumatize and bankrupt the court-targeted parent.
Typically, the parent who wants nothing more than EQUAL PARENTING and who dares stand up for themselves, their children, and their rights.
False claims made against him
Assignment of a GAL ($$$)
Orders for therapy for all ($$$)
Orders for ‘child support’ that deviate from federal standards and are designed to financially ruin the targeted parent. ($$$)
Supervised ‘visitation’, even though the father has not been guilty of any crime in any court of evidence or law. ($$$)
Echoes of Personal Experience in Current Case
None of this is anything new in Connecticut’s broken, corrupt and operationally dysfunctional “family” court system.
The reason this case caught my attention is that it echoes the “family” court sponsored child abuse and exploitation I, and my sons, and my family were subjected to.
Which the “family” court, DCF, Office of the Attorney General, Chief States Attorney, Statewide Grievance Committee not only ignored, but also aided and abetted.
Which cost the Town of Glastonbury and its taxpayers over $500,000 and cost the State of Connecticut and its taxpayers well over $1,000,000.
Educational Neglect Overlooked by Authorities
In this father’s case, his teenage sons have now skipped and missed over 40 days of school when with his ex-wife.
With DCF looking the other way.
His teenage sons are running away from their mother and showing up at their father’s door asking for his help.
His calls to the police, 211, all ignored. His son’s complaints to their medical providers, school counselors, and others – all ignored (see the Riordan-Ambrose case.)
Father’s Proposal to Ensure School Attendance Rejected
In response, he drafted a proposed set of orders to the “family” court designed to get his sons back to school.
His proposal: He asked the court to order that his sons be with him for a period of 4-6 weeks – during which he would ensure they attended school each day. His sons have told everyone involved in this case, including the GAL, that they would attend school if they could stay with their father.
After they returned to school, they would gradually be required by him to be with their mother – until after a three-month period they were back to 50-50.

The GAL “didn’t believe this was a good idea’ – without explaining why. We all know why – there is no MONEY to be made in resolving conflict.

Court Threatens Father for Providing Safe Haven
She ordered that the next time his sons show up at his doorstep, HE WOULD BE PUNISHED AND FINED $100/DAY BY THE COURT if he allowed them to seek safe harbor and stay with him.

We all ask the question again – WHY IS THIS TOLERATED ON ANY LEVEL IN THIS STATE AND BY OUR LEGISLATORS AND OUR JUDICIARY?
Why do we allow our “family” court judges and state “family” court actors to act like sociopaths in robes?
